Plant markers can be pricey. Metal tags and clay markers, fade out over the years and the plant names become illegible. Rather grab some 12 inch, straight branches from willow, popular, birch, dogwood or other straight, nonbranching sucker.
Trim off a strip of the bark, which is simple to do in the Spring. simply type the name on the wood and shove into the soil. Willow may root over the season, providing a plant to transplant to another bed.
Most varieties may behave when pushed into fertile soil as a plant marker.
