Several vegetables have many options to chose from in seed catalogs. For example, when looking at cabbages there are some types that will be available to pick in only 65 days, such as the hybrid savoy cabbage “Alcoa,” while others, regularly called “Main Season-types” can require as long as 110 days.

By picking types for less growing seasons, I can regularly get a harvest. So when deciding your veggie seeds, acknowledge how long your growing season is and pick accordingly.
